About
I write BEW’s quarterly commentary. My goal is to connect market developments to enduring financial principles. I enjoy the challenge of turning dry, technical material into a clear, useful, and engaging story. Wealth management blends a variety of skills and perspectives — analytical and interpersonal, economics and psychology, topical and theoretical. It continually pushes me to learn, evolve, and grow.
People are endlessly fascinating, making relationship-building deeply rewarding. Strong relationships allow me to customize advice to align with what truly matters most to each person. A “black belt” skill for advisors is crafting effective, purposeful meetings: anticipating key concerns, surfacing issues, and spotlighting developments. Financial planning isn’t about building precise forecasts. It’s about exploring possible futures to spark conversation and guide well-informed decisions.
I feel honored to support clients through challenging times. For instance, Covid was both intensely stressful and empowering. It highlighted the importance of steady guidance during periods of fear and uncertainty. This is a daunting and awesome responsibility.
Outside of work, my number one joy is spending time with my wife and daughter, often with friends and family. In the little time remaining, I follow the NBA (Warriors!) and NFL, workout, read sci-fi and spy/detective novels, and listen to podcasts at 2x speed (so little time!).
